The Food Hub, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim evolved from a growing demand locally regionally and nationally for a purpose built customised food production facility.
An opportunity presented itself in Drumshanbo by way of the old Lairds Jam Factory which when coupled with the fervent commitment and dedication of the local community helped to sow the seeds for the establishment of a centre of food excellence in the North West.
Momentum Creative Marketing Services devised a creative and results driven sales and marketing strategy for The Food Hub in the spring of 2007. The marketing effort stretched both North and South of the border and with the support of local agencies including the County Enterprise Boards and Arigna LEADER, a contacts database was created. This database formed the cornerstone of the sales campaigns targeting start up food producers, existing food companies wishing to expand production, specialty food companies and food agencies. This campaign helped to create sales leads thereby driving tenant demand for the food hub units.

The highlights of the campaign centred on an official launch by the Minister for Agriculture Food and Fisheries in October 2007 followed by a feature on RTE Television's Nationwide programme in the spring of 2008.
